Santa Ponsa, Mallorca

Minimalist Villa by the sea

About project

This stunning minimalistic villa overlooks the tiny islands of Malgratz, close to Santa Ponsa bay in Mallorca. The client, a British family who wished to spend their holidays together at this contemporary retreat, requested a luxurious interior design concept for their four-bedroom property.

The developer had already supplied the kitchen, built in wardrobes and beds, so Taylor Interiors focussed on transforming the villa through the use of soft furnishings and lighting, as well as completely refurnishing the living room and garden. The team also supplied cutting-edge equipment for the gymnasium (by Technogym).

The living room was furnished with a large, light cream leather sofa by Verdesign and accompanied by contrasting decorative silk cushions in a striking turquoise shade by Decortex. A duo of large, white lacquer sideboards by Bimax reflect the light and provide the perfect base for two spectacular table lamps by Axo Light.

A stunning turquoise, opal and transparent glass chandelier by Glass & Glass from Veneto, provides an impressive focal point and resides perfectly above the unique oval shaped glass dining table by Reflex. The stunning deep turquoise, high backed dining chairs by Tonin unify the room and create an ambient entertaining space.

Two exceptional abstract paintings in turquoise and cream by Sabine Abfalterer were positioned in the dining area and by the staircase, adding a wonderfully stylish element to this very modern home.

The master bedroom is decorated in fabrics from the English company, Manuel Canovas, all in a subtle colour palette of gold, cream and lilac. With such sumptuous fabrics the room only needed a beautiful circular swivel sofa by Desire and a designer table lamp by Vistosi to complete it.

As Senior Interior Designer on the project, Yvette Taylor wanted to create a feature of the spacious roof terrace with incredible sea views, as a space for the family to socialise and entertain in. A selection of exquisite garden furniture met these requirements perfectly.

The large sofa, which can sit fifteen people, was supplied by Serenity Living and upholstered by Sunbrella fabrics, while the sleek sun beds and minimalistic dining table and chairs by Alexander Rose were produced in distinctive stainless steel. The interior and exterior works together, as a peerless example of luxurious interior design.
