An American client appointed Yvette Taylor and her team of interior designers to furnish a unique German Huf Haus in the rolling English countryside of Surrey. The interior design concept sought to harmonise with the modern architecture and blend with its white wood and glass facade.

Taylor Interiors selected contemporary furnishings, which would offer high levels of functionality, such as the custom made wooden electric shutters that enable easy access to the breath-taking views across the surrounding fields.

Beautiful parquet flooring in American walnut replaces the dark grey carpet in the entrance, living and dining rooms, TV lounge and first floor hall. All the remaining rooms were fitted with a soft cream carpet supplied by German specialists Vorwerk.

The minimalist kitchen, by Siematic, was fitted with sleek Miele appliances and trendy Elica extractor fans. To imbue the stunning dining room with a unique atmosphere and accentuate the seven metre-high ceiling, an incredible chandelier entitled “Artichoke” by Danish designer Luis Poulsen was commissioned. A large, custom-made dining table in oak with wenge finish is by Orsi, presented with cream leather dining chairs by Tonon and finished with a Stepevi rug.

The formal living room was transformed with sumptuous furnishings. The smoky grey leather capitone sofas by Pigoli are complemented by a Desire coffee table and a Stepevi textured rug. For the informal living area, a large black leather sofa by Danish company Eilerssen is accompanied by a custom made Stepevi rug. The focal points of the TV lounge are the hip, oversized black floor lamps by French company Dix Heures.

The master bedroom was exclusively furnished by Orsi, using the same oak veneer with wenge finish as the dining table, accompanied by subtle olive toned soft furnishings by Carlucci from their new Glamour collection. Lamps by Axo light and a rotund television stand in a cream gloss lacquer by Bonaldo make a stunning contrast. Striking dark brown garden furniture by Serenity Living was added to the outdoor spaces to complete the luxurious interior design of this beautifully modern mansion.
